New Information Expected - Summer Flounder Quotas
Posted on 07/25/2008
In the coming weeks we'll be learning more about 2009 quotas for Summer Flounder. The Mid-Atlantic Fishery Management Council will be meeting in Philadelphia, PA on August 6, 2008 to review the the SCC and Summer Flounder Monitoring Committee's recommendations for the harvesting and commercial management measures for Summer Flounder. Some believe that the limits placed on Summer Flounder are too strict based on the fact that stock conditions have improved. In fact, some information suggests that based on new models even greater progress then expected has been made toward the target biomass for flounder. Look for additional information in the weeks to come.
